Michele Consiglio, DVMDr. Consiglio ("Dr. Sig"), our Chief of Staff, is a Shrewsbury, MA native who joined our clinic after initially practicing in New Paltz, NY. She is a Providence College graduate with additional degrees from Assumption College and Becker College both in Worcester, MA. She received her doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from St. Georges University School of Veterinary Medicine. She completed her clinical training at Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine in Baton Rouge with an interest in dermatology.

Dr. Sig is living locally in Warwick with her Boston terrier Serafina, an Island black cat with a personality disorder named Salemslot, a black stray from South County named Loki, and her newest black cat rescued from Oakland Beach, Ms. Nyx.

Kaitlin Gelsomino, DVMA native of North Providence, Dr. Gelsomino originally started working at West Shore Animal Clinic after graduating from North Carolina State University as a receptionist. She quickly rose through ranks to technician and made the decision to attend veterinary school at St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine. She graduated summa cum laude after completing her clinical training at Cornell University. She then completed an internship at Ocean State Veterinary Specialists in small animal medicine and surgery.

Dr. Gelsomino is married to her childhood sweetheart Ed Gelsomino with whom she has daughter Charli. She also has a houseful including five cats named Leo, Emily, Jacob, BJ, and Kira, a ball python named Suri ,and a bearded dragon named Bowser.

Kathryn Proulx, DVMDr. Proulx is a Tiverton, RI native who received her undergraduate degree from the University of Rhode Island. She received her doctorate from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and completed her clinical training at Colorado State University. She then completed an internship at Ocean State Veterinary Specialists in small animal emergency, medicine, and surgery.

Dr. Proulx is married to Chris Englert, an oceanographer, and has a new baby boy named Owen. They live with a golden retriever named Olive, her equally blonde buddy, Murray the cat, as well as a rescued all-black New Hampshire kitty named Pepper.
